I’m curious and love diving into a topic. Professionally, I am an advisor, researcher, author, and speaker.
Being dyslexic and neurodiverse, I tend to focus and become slightly obsessed with my projects and books.
For the past six years, I have been researching, talking, writing and speaking about the impact of artificial intelligence and automation on employment especially how these complex technologies will disrupt our definition of work.
Global enterprises understand to remain competitive, hiring dyslexics and neurodiverse professionals must become a necessity.
In 2015, I was selected to give a TEDx Talk in May, three weeks prior to my presentation, my book Dyslexia’s Competitive Edge was released.
Even today, I am amazed at how many people have viewed the video from every corner of the world. Here’s a link TEDx Talk Dyslexia 2:0 The Gift of Innovation and Entrepreneurial Mind. As a speaker, I present at national conferences in the U.S. and the U.K. and at corporate meetings.
I started conducting research for How Dyslexics Will Rule the Future in the fall of 2015. In this book, my research focused on the impact of AI and automation and how individuals who think differently are a competitive edge.
Part of my findings are also included in my fifth book, Are You Ready? which focuses on the overall impact of AI and automation. This book scheduled released date is January 2019.
My first book, You Posted What! published in 2014 was one of the first books to discuss how edtech and career development startups were disrupting these industries resulting in significant changes for colleges and students.
Since junior high, I’ve been an entrepreneur always launching businesses of various sizes or thinking of new products. In 1999, I started a website development company. Eight years later, I launched Dillon 5 in 2007 and served as an in-house marketing strategist to investor funded startups and early-stage companies. In 2015, I pivoted Dillon 5 to focus on developing my personal brand to provide workshops and coaching services to companies, groups, and individuals.
From 2009 – 2011, I held an executive level position as Director of Marketing and Customer Relations for Meals to Live an investor funded startup.
My media appearances include ABC-WFAA, BBC, NBC-KXAS, and CNN-Radio. I have been quoted in Forbes, USA Today, The Dallas Morning News, The Dallas Business Journal, Austin-American Statesman, Restaurant News, Rochester Democrat-Chronicle, and more.
