Modern, Accessible Poetry
Sunday’s sophomore volume of poetry is intimate and eclectic as she writes about love, self-discovery, grief, abuse, inequality, empowerment, and the global pandemic.
Personal experiences and keen observations influence her work. Sunday’s darker poems give a voice to society’s unheard. To balance the intensity, Sunday weaves poems of hope and comfort inspired by nature’s majestic beauty and peacefulness.
Her piercing allegory and sophisticated use of lineation establish Sunday as an important new voice. This book belongs to many categories as her work transverses multiple poetry genres. Proper Grey Areas is a relatable and intriguing book for individuals seeking self-reflection, solace, and inclusion.

A Poem from the Book
Ties that Bind
Ties that bind
suffocating,
defining sharp edges,
cut beneath,
my fingers.
Tiny pieces of glass.
Embedded.
Become part of my skin.
Scars dance across,
the open landscape of my being,
defiance,
resistance
standing tall,
solitude of one,
against the injustice of you.
